The Metro Toronto Movement for Literacy

Strong Words is very proud to support the Metro Toronto Movement for Literacy, a network of individuals and groups who are involved in, and support, adult literacy in the Greater Toronto Area. The MTML is an independent nonprofit organization that provides leadership and works actively to develop and promote adult literacy.

Each month, we have collected new and used books in resale condition on behalf of the Metro Toronto Movement for Literacy, who in turn can sell them to generate funding for their many programs. However, the MTML is currently not accepting book donations, so we are temporarily donating those that we do collect to the Book Ends program at the Toronto Public Library. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of select anthologies will also be donated to the MTML.

Naturally, you don't need to come to Strong Words to support the MTML. By becoming a member of their organization, you can benefit from the wide range of activities and resources that the MTML provides for the literacy movement, including workshops, seminars and special events. If you don't wish to become a member, you can simply make a donation instead.
